Order

What you can expect when you order wholesale.

When you order an animal directly, we let our local farmers know and see who has an animal for your order and how soon they can drop it off. Farmers are busy, it may take a day or two for them to fit a trip into their schedule. We also have to book the Provincial Inspector. Because we can’t return a life or inspection, all these fine people have to be paid first.

We honor the animal with a prayer, and they are humanely executed. We comply with CFIA and Halal standards. After the animal passes inspection, it then has to cool to 4 degrees, this usually takes 24 hours. Then the meat is butchered, wrapped and ready for you to pick it up. Everything is sent home in food grade plastic bags, because we sell everything fresh. If you want to freeze your meat, we recommend you vacuum seal or paper wrap you meat first. Once we confirm a pick-up date and time we will work with you to meet at one of our 5 pick-up locations.

You should expect your order to take about 4 days to fill but don’t be surprised if it is as soon as 2. If you have a specific date, please give us at least 4 business days notice. If you know a holiday, festival or feast is coming, try to get your orders in with as much notice to guarantee a fresh supply.

Animals are sold as whole with the exception of Cows, that can be sold as a half. You can take your animal home as a whole or half to cut into desired pieces yourself or for $10, we can do a simple butcher. Cows are cut into some select prime cuts and large cuts, sheep are processed into chops and then cooking pieces and goat is typically sold in cooking pieces or at your request, chops can be cut. Savings come from keeping it simple.
